MEDIA, PA — Delaware County Community College student Natalia Rodriguez Lopez has been named to the 2026 All-USA Academic Team and will receive a $3,000 scholarship, the college announced.
Rodriguez Lopez, of West Chester, was selected from more than 2,300 nominees nationwide and was recognized during the American Association of Community Colleges’ annual convention held April 10 through April 14 in Seattle.
A native of Colombia and a nursing major, Rodriguez Lopez serves as president of the college’s Phi Theta Kappa Beta Psi Pi chapter and leads its student chapter of Sharing Excess, a nonprofit that distributes surplus fresh produce to students, staff, and local residents.
She also volunteers as a Spanish interpreter for Community Volunteers in Medicine in West Chester and plans to continue her nursing studies at West Chester University.
In addition to the national honor, Rodriguez Lopez was named to the 2026 All-PA Academic Team, a recognition sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa and the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges.
She delivered the keynote address at the All-PA Awards Banquet on April 7 at Harrisburg Area Community College.
“The All-USA program is a prestigious recognition of a student’s exceptional abilities both in and outside of the classroom,” said Amanda Karpinski-Gorman, director of the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation. “These students are selected for their resilience, creativity, and ingenuity in tackling global and local challenges.”
Delaware County Community College President Dr. Marta Yera Cronin said the college is “tremendously proud” of Rodriguez Lopez and her contributions to the campus community.
The All-USA Academic Team is considered one of the nation’s top honors for students pursuing associate degrees, with each college allowed to nominate two students based on academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement.
