PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) hosted its second Early Childhood Resource Fair on October 16, 2025, at the Technical College High School (TCHS) Pickering Campus, continuing its countywide initiative to connect families with essential early learning and wellness resources.
Following the success of the inaugural event in September at the Gordon Early Literacy Center, the fair brought together families from CCIU’s Early Head Start, Head Start, and Preschool Special Education programs. More than 25 local organizations participated, including Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), The Housing Partnership of Chester County, Austill’s, and Arts Helping Hands and Hearts.
Throughout the evening, families received backpacks, diaper bags, and diapers, while children enjoyed choosing free shoes, clothing, and coats from the event’s community market. A highlight for many young attendees was the Teddy Bear giveaway, courtesy of Build-A-Bear Workshop.
“This event is a reflection of our commitment to building relationships that strengthen families and communities,” said Cameron Natiello, CCIU’s Preschool Special Education family engagement specialist. “By working together with our partners, we’re ensuring that Chester County families have access to the resources they need to thrive.”
The Early Childhood Resource Fairs are part of CCIU’s broader effort to foster collaboration among educational, social service, and community partners across Chester County. The final fair of 2025 will take place on November 13 at the Engle Education Center in West Grove.
