KENNETT SQUARE, PA —  United Way of Southern Chester County (UWSCC) announced it will distribute $750,000 to 30 vital programs (delivered by 23 local non-profit organizations throughout Southern Chester County).

Funding will help diverse segments of the population in our region, including childcare services, after-school programming, services for the aging, food cupboard support, and services for developmentally disabled, individuals and families.

At the beginning of the year, local organizations submitted funding proposals to United Way of Southern Chester County for their most effective programs serving the people of the region. The UWSCC’s Volunteer Allocation Panelists worked diligently to review those proposals and determine funding. It was a competitive process and this year, every request received funding.

“It is vital for us to fulfill our ongoing commitment to our partner agencies. We’re determined to provide funding year after year, no matter what financial and economic conditions prevail in our service area. We are thankful to the people of Southern Chester County, the workplaces, small businesses, and corporations that understand the urgency of responding to the needs of the less fortunate. Every time a donation is made, our reach grows, and we can improve more lives throughout our community. “

On May 17, 2023, UWSCC held its Annual Meeting to officially reveal the programs that will be funded in 2023-2024.  The Board of Directors installed four new members and celebrated those whose terms have ended.
