PARKESBURG, PA — The Parkesburg Borough Police Department announced that the Mayor’s Office has declared a snow emergency effective Sunday, February 22, 2026, at noon due to the current weather forecast.
The declaration is intended to give residents time to move vehicles from designated snow emergency routes before enforcement begins.
According to borough officials, the affected roads include First Avenue (State Route 372), Main Street, Strasburg Avenue, Chapel Avenue, and Green Street.
Police stated that vehicles remaining on those routes after noon may be ticketed and towed.
Officials advised residents that if snowfall begins earlier or is heavier than forecast, vehicles should be removed from snow emergency routes before the noon deadline.
The borough also reminded residents that it is a violation to shovel snow from sidewalks or private property back into the roadway.
For Parkesburg residents, the emergency designation means stricter parking enforcement on major routes to allow plows and emergency vehicles to travel safely during the storm.
