CHADDS FORD, PA — Kennett Township is considering amending its Non-Uniformed Employees’ Pension Plan to allow it to be governed by the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System.
The Board of Supervisors is expected to meet on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 7:00 PM to discuss and potentially enact this ordinance. This amendment would provide employees with greater benefits and protections under the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement Law.
Non-uniformed township employees who are currently members of the pension plan would be automatically transferred to the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System if the ordinance is enacted. Employees not currently in the pension plan would have the option to join the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System.
The Board of Supervisors welcomes input from employees and residents on this proposed ordinance. The meeting will be held in-person at the Kennett Township Building, and will also be available via Zoom. More information about the meeting, including the link to join via Zoom, can be found on the township’s website.
The proposed ordinance is available for inspection and copying by the public by clicking here and the Kennett Township Building, 801 Burrows Run Road, Chadds Ford, PA 19317. The document is available during regular business hours.
