COATESVILLE, PA — Coatesville residents and visitors enjoyed a free community block party and open house on Saturday, August 2 to celebrate the arrival of Union Community Care, now serving Coatesville and Chester County as the new Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) at AHE’s Brandywine Center (744 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA, 19320).
Union Community Care (Union) replaces ChesPenn Health Services as the new primary healthcare provider at AHE’s Brandywine Center, with a focus on accessible, compassionate, and community-centered care in Coatesville and the greater Chester County region.
“My favorite days in my professional life are when we get to come together for the magnified power of collaboration,” said Kevin Ressler, President and CEO of The Alliance for Health Equity. It isn’t ‘me or you’ but ‘us’ that makes the winningest combination. When people come together and avoid the us vs. them temptations of fear and uncertainty, there are always resources in abundance. This Ribbon Cutting immediately moved into clinic tours, ice cream, bouncy houses and fun for everyone because The Alliance for Health Equity believes that a healthy person is a whole person, not just the ailments they may have on occasion, but their everyday life and joys and celebrations included.”
Hundreds of guests enjoyed live music from DJ Dre Money, an Ultimate Ninja Warrior course, a Velcro inflatable wall, a kid Zone, face painting, outdoor games, free meals and desserts from The Butter Pecan Cafe, Uncle John’s BBQ, and Richies Water Ice, plus tours of Union’s new health center and a formal ribbon cutting ceremony. The Alliance for Health Equity is grateful to PA American Water for bringing Puddles, their water truck, ensuring all guests had access to clean, fresh, cold water throughout the event.
“Union Community Care is honored to join the Coatesville community and carry forward the legacy of care at the Brandywine Center,” said Alisa Maria Jones, President and CEO of Union Community Care. This celebration is more than a ribbon cutting—it’s a reflection of our deep belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and cared for. We are here to walk alongside our neighbors, build trusted relationships, and expand access to health and healing for generations to come.”
