WEST CHESTER, PA — Jim and Lynne Kent have become the first participants to complete the 2025 Chester County Farmers Market Trail, an initiative designed to encourage residents and visitors to explore the county’s diverse farmers markets while supporting local agriculture.

Launched earlier this year by AgConnect, the trail challenges participants to visit all 10 of Chester County’s farmers markets, collecting a stamp at each location. The Kents achieved the milestone this month after visiting markets from Oxford to Phoenixville, highlighting both their commitment to local food and the county’s rich agricultural network.

Their accomplishment was recognized on Aug. 9 at the West Chester Growers Market, where Melissa Harrop of AgConnect presented them with a complimentary “Ag Swag” prize bag. “The Kent’s enthusiasm embodies exactly what this trail is all about – celebrating local food, connecting with farmers, and experiencing the diversity of our county’s markets,” Harrop said.

For Lynne Kent, the journey was as rewarding as the destination. “It may seem daunting, but it was a really fun adventure that took my husband and me through the beautiful scenes of Chester County,” she said. “It was a wonderful experience!”

The Farmers Market Trail remains open to new participants through Dec. 31, 2025. Anyone who visits all 10 markets — including those in West Chester, Berwyn, Downingtown, Eagleview, Kennett Square, Malvern, New Garden, Oxford, and Phoenixville — and submits a completed stamp map will receive a prize bag filled with a reusable insulated tote, local goods, and items from AgConnect and County Lines magazine.
