NEWTOWN, PA — EPAM Systems, Inc. (NYSE: EPAM) has joined the Wiz Partner Alliance, expanding an existing relationship that combines EPAM’s engineering capabilities with Wiz’s cloud-security technology to help enterprises identify and remediate risks across increasingly complex multi-cloud and AI environments.
The collaboration pairs Wiz’s AI Application Protection Platform, or AI-APP, with EPAM’s application engineering, cybersecurity and cloud-modernization work. The companies are targeting a persistent operational gap between detecting security vulnerabilities and correcting the underlying problems across applications and infrastructure.
Wiz, now part of Google Cloud, uses its Security Graph to map cloud assets, configurations, relationships and potential attack paths across code, cloud infrastructure, runtime systems, AI applications, software-as-a-service products and custom-hosted environments.
EPAM plans to use that risk intelligence in engineering and modernization programs spanning Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and other cloud environments.
“Cloud security does not end with identifying risk, as organizations need the engineering capability to act on that intelligence across complex applications and infrastructure,” Alexandros Katsioulis, EPAM’s head of Alphabet Business and Google Global Business Group, said.
The formal partnership builds on implementation work EPAM is already performing for enterprise customers using Wiz. Those programs span industries including media and entertainment, transportation and logistics, life sciences and health care, financial services, automotive, retail and consumer goods.
EPAM will also use findings generated by Wiz to guide application modernization, cloud architecture and remediation. White Hat, an EPAM company, will provide offensive-security and incident-response capabilities to assess whether identified weaknesses are exploitable and help prioritize risks requiring engineering action.
“Security should not be measured by the number of vulnerabilities found. It should be measured by the reduction of exploitable risk,” Eugene Dzihanau, head of EPAM’s cybersecurity practice, said.
Wiz’s AI agents add automated functions across several stages of that process. Red Agent is designed to validate potentially exploitable paths across an organization’s external attack surface, Green Agent supports root-cause remediation, and Blue Agent assists with investigating runtime threats and assessing their potential impact.
EPAM plans to integrate those tools into its broader engineering and modernization programs while also implementing Wiz internally.
“Identifying a vulnerability is not the same as proving that it can be exploited or containing an attack once someone has already exploited the vulnerability,” Aviv Srour, EPAM’s head of cyber innovation, said.
The expanded alliance gives EPAM a larger role in translating Wiz-generated security findings into corrective engineering work, while extending the companies’ existing implementation relationship to additional cloud transformation and cybersecurity programs.
