WYOMISSING, PA — Power Synch reported that a large institutional electricity buyer saved more than $308,000 during a single day of wholesale power procurement after conducting six competitive bidding events covering nearly 197,000 megawatt-hours of electricity across six Pennsylvania utility territories.
The company attributed the savings to its real-time competitive bidding platform, which allows multiple electricity suppliers to compete simultaneously for a buyer’s wholesale load. The procurement covered the June 2026 through July 2027 delivery period.
According to Power Synch, the six procurement events secured $308,734 in documented savings on 196,739 megawatt-hours of electricity, with individual procurement events producing savings of as much as 8% and a blended savings of approximately $1.57 per megawatt-hour.
The company also reported that participating suppliers collectively represented approximately 15% of U.S. power generation capacity.
Power Synch positioned the results as evidence that competitive bidding can reduce procurement costs even as large commercial and institutional electricity consumers contend with higher energy prices, increasing demand from data centers, grid volatility and evolving regulatory requirements.
The platform is designed to replace traditional request-for-proposal procurement processes by allowing buyers to receive competing bids in real time while retaining control over pricing, contract structure and supplier selection. The company also stated that its credit framework enables buyers to transact with multiple qualified suppliers without negotiating separate agreements with each.
Power Synch was developed by the team behind American PowerNet, which the company stated has more than three decades of experience in wholesale electricity procurement.
