WILMINGTON, DE — Qnity Electronics Inc. (NYSE: Q) appointed semiconductor industry veteran Katherine “Kate” Dei Cas as president of its Semiconductor Technologies segment, effective Aug. 3, as the company positions the business for growth tied to artificial intelligence and increasingly complex chip production.
Dei Cas will succeed interim segment president Sam Ponzo, who will return to his position as Qnity’s chief commercial and strategy officer.
She joins Qnity from EMD Electronics, a division of Merck KGaA, where she most recently served as executive vice president and a member of the executive team.
Dei Cas brings more than 25 years of semiconductor industry experience, including work involving global supply chains, operations and strategic initiatives, according to Qnity.
Chief Executive Officer Jon Kemp pointed to her operational and commercial background as the company seeks to expand its role across the semiconductor supply chain.
“Her proven ability to foster high-performing teams, manage global supply chains, and drive growth make her the ideal leader for our Semi business,” Kemp stated.
Dei Cas described artificial intelligence as a force changing how advanced semiconductors are designed and produced.
“AI is fundamentally reshaping how the world’s most advanced chips are designed and manufactured,” she stated.
