WILMINGTON, DE — Phreesia has launched an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot through its MediFind platform aimed at simplifying how patients identify and connect with healthcare providers, expanding the company’s digital patient engagement offerings.
The chatbot, named Chloe, guides users through a conversational intake process before recommending physicians from MediFind’s database of more than 2 million clinicians. The tool collects information such as the type of care a patient needs, location, insurance coverage and personal preferences to generate provider recommendations.
The launch reflects continued investment in AI-assisted healthcare navigation as providers and technology companies seek to reduce barriers that can delay or prevent patients from obtaining care.
Patients can review provider profiles, compare physicians and request appointments directly through the MediFind platform after receiving tailored recommendations.
Phreesia acquired MediFind in July 2023, adding the online provider directory to its portfolio of patient intake, scheduling and engagement technologies.
The company indicated the chatbot is intended to reduce incorrect provider bookings and scheduling delays while helping patients locate specialists for chronic, complex and rare medical conditions.
David Linetsky, president of Phreesia Network Solutions, indicated that the technology is designed to improve provider matching by gathering patient information before presenting search results.
“We built Chloe because we know that finding the right provider is about more than search results, it’s about guidance,” Linetsky said. “By asking the right questions up front, we make it easier for patients to find a provider who actually fits their care needs.”
MediFind uses data analytics to rank and identify physicians based on expertise and clinical focus. The addition of Chloe introduces a conversational interface intended to personalize that search process while directing patients toward providers that meet their clinical and insurance requirements.
