NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — SupplyOne has acquired Compass Packaging Solutions, expanding its presence in New England and strengthening its position in the protective packaging segment as consolidation continues across the packaging distribution industry.

The transaction adds a Massachusetts-based provider of custom protective packaging, warehousing, distribution, fulfillment and kitting services that serves customers in the life sciences, semiconductor, technology and defense sectors. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The acquisition marks SupplyOne’s 48th transaction and its third acquisition in the past three years involving a significant protective packaging business, underscoring the company’s strategy of expanding both geographic reach and specialized packaging capabilities.

Compass Packaging Solutions, founded in 2011 and headquartered in North Billerica, Massachusetts, will continue to operate under the leadership of founder and owner Rick Meissner following the closing, according to the company.

Protective packaging has become an increasingly important segment of the packaging market as manufacturers and distributors seek to reduce product damage and improve supply chain efficiency, particularly in industries handling sensitive or high-value products.

“The addition of Compass Packaging Solutions strengthens our presence in New England while adding meaningful capabilities in protective packaging, a key strategic priority for SupplyOne,” SupplyOne President and Chief Executive Officer Todd Renehan said in a statement.

Renehan said Compass has developed a customer-focused approach that aligns with SupplyOne’s strategy of providing customized packaging and supply-chain solutions.

Meissner said the transaction will provide Compass customers with access to broader resources and capabilities while allowing the company to maintain its customer-service focus.

“Joining forces with SupplyOne enables us to continue delivering on our mission while expanding the resources and capabilities we offer our customers,” Meissner said.

The acquisition further expands SupplyOne’s network across North America as the company continues to pursue growth through acquisitions alongside its packaging distribution and value-added services operations.
