PHILADELPHIA, PA — Pathologie Friesland, a regional pathology laboratory in the Netherlands, is adopting Proscia’s Concentriq AP-Dx platform to expand its diagnostic network and support future digital and artificial intelligence capabilities, the companies said.
The laboratory, which processes hundreds of thousands of pathology images annually for hospitals, general practitioners, and clinics, said the move is intended to support growth, streamline operations, and enable integration of AI tools.
Pathologie Friesland will deploy the platform on Amazon Web Services to support scalability, security, and performance requirements, according to the announcement.
The organization said it selected Concentriq AP-Dx following an evaluation process, citing the platform’s ability to support interoperability and accommodate additional sites within its network.
“While we have been largely digital for years, this is about what comes next,” said CEO Gijsbert Zijlstra. “With the platform, our expanding team can deliver more diagnoses faster.”
Pathologie Friesland said it plans to begin using Proscia’s quality control application as an initial step in incorporating AI, with broader adoption of additional applications expected over time.
The platform supports access to more than 130 artificial intelligence applications, according to the company.
Pathologie Friesland provides clinical pathology diagnostics across the Dutch province of Friesland and has been an early adopter of digital pathology systems.
Proscia develops software for pathology and is used by pharmaceutical companies and healthcare organizations to support diagnostic and research workflows.
