WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Health Department reported food safety violations at one facility following inspections conducted on March 27, while multiple other establishments were found to be in compliance.
Inspectors cited Tropical Smoothie Cafe, 103 Turner Lane in West Chester, for several sanitation and maintenance violations, according to the department.
The violations included unclean floors in walk-in units and near sinks, debris around floor drains, and walls behind ovens requiring cleaning. Inspectors also noted eroding grout between floor tiles in the warewashing area, which can trap water and food debris, and soiled sponges that were required to be discarded.
Health officials note that inspections represent a snapshot in time and may not reflect long-term conditions at a facility.
The department also reported the following establishments were found to be in compliance with health and safety regulations:
- Baba’s Brew DBA A Culture Factory in Phoenixville;
- Barclay Friends in West Chester;
- Caln Elementary School in Thorndale;
- Elk’s Home Association in West Chester;
- Mother Nature’s Sun LLC at Inniscrone Golf Course in Avondale;
- Richie’s Water Ice & Ice Cream in Coatesville;
- Ron’s Original Bar & Grille in Lionville;
- Station Taproom/Bottle Room in Downingtown; and
- Venice Pizza & Pasta in Coatesville.
