PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that overnight lane closures are scheduled next week along Interstate 95 in Philadelphia for inspection work on the South Street Pedestrian Bridge. The inspection is part of PennDOT’s regular maintenance program to ensure the safety and structural integrity of bridges along the busy corridor.

From Wednesday, November 12, through Friday, November 14, a lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard and I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) interchanges from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Following that, from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM, intermittent lane closures will occur on the Market Street Ramp to I-95 South and the Columbus Boulevard Ramp to I-95 North.

PennDOT urges motorists to plan ahead and allow extra travel time, as delays and backups are expected during the overnight hours. All work is weather dependent.

The inspection ensures the continued safety of the I-95 corridor—one of the region’s most heavily traveled routes—and supports ongoing infrastructure monitoring efforts across Philadelphia.
