Lower Moreland Police Charge Man in $12,000 Bank Fraud Investigation

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PALower Moreland Township Police have charged a 22-year-old man in connection with an alleged bank fraud case that resulted in more than $12,000 in unauthorized withdrawals.

According to police, the investigation began on April 19, 2025, when a victim reported that their bank account had been compromised. The victim discovered two fraudulent withdrawals the previous day totaling over $12,000.

Detectives identified 22-year-old Gianfranco Diaz-Ponce as the individual who allegedly cashed the fraudulent checks linked to the victim’s account. After investigators gathered sufficient evidence, an arrest warrant was issued. Diaz-Ponce later turned himself in to authorities on October 13, 2025.

He has been charged with forgery, theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, access device fraud, and multiple related conspiracy offenses.

All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
