MORGANTOWN, PA — Caernarvon Township Police have charged a local man in connection with a retail theft at a local Walmart this past summer.
According to police, the incident occurred on July 25, 2025, at approximately 11:51 a.m. at Walmart, located at 100 Crossings Boulevard in Elverson. Investigators allege that a man, later identified as 23-year-old Donald Craig Hornak II, entered the store with a small brown dog and took a Liquipel Powertek Neon USB-A charger valued at $9.88 and a chocolate sheet cake valued at $13.92. Authorities said the man then exited the store without paying, resulting in a reported loss of $23.80.
Police stated that Hornak was identified through law enforcement databases, open-source intelligence, and surveillance footage. Officers noted that CCTV images showed Hornak wearing tan pants and a gray short-sleeve shirt, with distinctive facial and arm tattoos. Additional footage from prior visits to the store reportedly confirmed his identity through matching leg tattoos.
Investigators also noted that Hornak has a prior guilty disposition for retail theft, entered on June 26, 2025. Based on the evidence collected, charges of retail theft were filed, and Hornak was taken into custody on October 3, 2025.
All charges are allegations, and a suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
