PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that milling and paving will close a lane on eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in University City beginning tonight, September 26.
From 8:00 PM Friday, September 26, to 5:00 AM Monday, September 29, the right lane and shoulder will be closed between Walnut Street and the Grays Ferry/University Avenue exit (Exit 346B). The Walnut Street ramp to eastbound I-76 will also be closed, with traffic detoured via Walnut Street, University Avenue, and 34th Street.
PennDOT cautioned that significant delays are expected and advised motorists to consider I-676, I-95, or I-476 as alternate routes. For real-time updates, visit the MyChesCo Traffic Center.
