Masked Gunman Opens Fire on Woman Along Roosevelt Boulevard, Police Say

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Detectives are searching for a suspect involved in a shooting on Roosevelt Boulevard that left a woman fearing for her life in the early morning hours of September 15, 2025.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division, the complainant told officers she was walking along the 400 block of Roosevelt Boulevard at approximately 6:54 a.m. when she saw a masked man running toward her with a gun. She fled up the 4800 block of North Lawrence Street, at which point the suspect allegedly fired 10 shots in her direction.

Investigators said surveillance footage showed the suspect being dropped off and later picked up by a black Nissan Juke, which was last seen heading southbound on the Boulevard from 5th Street. The suspect is described as a male wearing a black hoodie, dark jeans, and black shoes.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle to contact the Northwest Detective Division at 215-686-3353.

Police emphasized that the incident remains under investigation and that any suspect identified is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
