DOYLESTOWN, PA — Organizers of AbbeyFest, Greater Philadelphia’s premier celebration of faith, family, friends and contemporary Catholic/Christian music, are preparing for 6,000 people to stream into Doylestown, Bucks County this Saturday when the music festival takes place at its new, larger location on September 20, 2025.
The day-long festival is being held at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, during the 2,025th anniversary of the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, as designated by Pope Francis. This year also marks a surge in Christian music listenership in the U.S., according to Luminate, a music industry data and analytics company that reports streams of new music released in the last 18 months are slightly down from the same time last year, but new Christian/gospel music is defying the trend due to a younger, streaming fanbase that is 30% millennial.
“Our mission is simple, yet powerful: to evangelize,” said AbbeyFest Board Member, Deacon Hank Fila. “Our goal is to bring people closer to Christ through faith, music, personal testimonies and the sacraments.”
“Year after year we witness the Holy Spirit at work, igniting thousands of youthful hearts,” added David Wilbur, also an AbbeyFest Board Member. “Save the date, spread the word, and make the pilgrimage to this spectacular shrine.”
The new location at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochow is a destination in itself. Founded in 1955, the Shrine began with a faithful replica of the miraculous icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa placed in a converted barn chapel. From these humble beginnings, it has become a center of Marian devotion, Polish-American heritage and national pilgrimage. The Main Church seats more than 1,400 people and is adorned with two monumental stained-glass murals — one depicting 1,000 years of Polish history, the other of the Americas. A 200-foot tower houses a chapel of 10,000 votive candles and memorial stained glass, a Relic Shrine features nearly 200 relics and the 22-ton Austin Organ was recently restored in 2025. The cemetery has more than 10,000 burials, clergy, Polish war veterans and distinguished Poles, with numerous memorials and statues.
In 2024, 4,500 attended AbbeyFest, with 6,000 expected in 2025. The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa is located at 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA. Tickets and sponsorships are available. Visit www.theabbeyfest.com.
