MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced upcoming base repair operations that will close sections of two state highways in Montgomery County later this month.
From Tuesday, September 16, through Thursday, September 25, Route 663 (Charlotte Street) will be closed on weekdays between Mervine Street and Route 73 (Big Road) in Upper Pottsgrove, New Hanover, and Douglass townships. The closure will be in effect daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Traffic will be detoured via Mervine Street, Hanover Street, Maugers Mill Road, Gilbertsville Road, and Route 73.
Additional work is scheduled on Whitehall Road in East and West Norriton townships. From Monday, September 29, through Friday, September 30, the road will close between Main Street and Germantown Pike during the same daytime hours. Drivers will be directed to use Main Street, Burnside Avenue, and Germantown Pike as a detour.
Local access will be maintained at both locations. PennDOT advised motorists to plan for extra travel time, as congestion and delays are expected. All work is weather dependent.
