Teen Attacked in Center City: Police Seek Help Identifying Suspect in Bold Plaza Robbery

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an alleged assault and robbery that occurred earlier this month in Center City.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division, the incident happened on August 9, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m. The 17-year-old male victim was in Dilworth Plaza, located at 1500 Market Street, when an unknown individual allegedly attacked him, knocking him to the ground.

Police say that during the struggle, the victim’s cell phone fell from his pocket and was taken.

Investigators have released photographs of the suspect and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The individual is described as a Black male with facial hair, wearing glasses, a white T-shirt, light-colored pants, white sneakers, and carrying a dark backpack.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093 or 215-686-3094. Detective Buchanan is leading the investigation under case number DC 25-09-092806.

Authorities remind the public that all suspects and arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
