BOYERTOWN, PA — ClimeCo announced that its ClimeCo Certified Product™ Program has been reapproved by Amazon for participation in the Climate Pledge Friendly (CPF) initiative, a move that strengthens the company’s position in the growing market for sustainable consumer goods.
The program, formerly known as CarbonFree® Product Certification, provides a framework for brands to measure, reduce, and offset the carbon footprint of their products. Its third-party verified methodology ensures that companies adopting the certification can credibly demonstrate progress toward environmental goals while giving consumers confidence in sustainability claims.
Amazon’s decision allows ClimeCo-certified products to continue displaying the Climate Pledge Friendly badge, which highlights goods meeting trusted sustainability standards. “Consumers want confidence in the sustainability claims behind the products they buy,” said Linda Kelly, senior vice president of certification programs at ClimeCo. “This continued recognition in the Climate Pledge Friendly program validates the credibility and transparency we build into every ClimeCo-certified product.”
To earn certification, participating companies must conduct a cradle-to-grave life cycle assessment of each product, identify and adopt ongoing measures to reduce emissions, and support global reduction and removal projects to offset the annual carbon footprint. This structure aligns with CPF’s broader mission of promoting third-party certifications that generate measurable environmental benefits.
ClimeCo emphasized that certification not only helps brands advance their climate strategies but also offers tangible commercial benefits. According to program data, products carrying the CPF badge typically see a 12 percent increase in sales and a 10 percent rise in glance views within the first year of joining the program.
With Amazon’s reapproval, ClimeCo is positioned to expand its role in helping companies balance climate commitments with consumer expectations, bridging sustainability and business performance in the retail sector.
