Wilmington Man Arrested After Police Recover Loaded Handgun, Ammunition

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have charged a city man with a firearms offense after officers say they recovered a loaded handgun and ammunition during an encounter earlier this week.

According to authorities, the arrest occurred on August 13, 2025, at approximately 5:51 p.m., when members of the Safe Streets Task Force were patrolling the 800 block of Spruce Street. Detectives observed an individual acting suspiciously and made contact with him.

Police identified the subject as 23-year-old Jacob Foraker. During the interaction, officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, two magazines, and additional 9mm rounds.

Foraker was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and released after posting $2,500 secured bail.

Police remind the public that a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
