National Night Out Returns August 5 to Strengthen Police-Community Ties Nationwide

National Night Out 2025

WYNNEWOOD, PA — Communities across the United States are gearing up for the 42nd Annual National Night Out (NNO) on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, an evening dedicated to fostering stronger relationships between residents and law enforcement.

Organized by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), the annual event encourages police-community partnerships through neighborhood gatherings, public safety demonstrations, and family-friendly activities. Events will take place in thousands of towns and cities across all 50 states.

“National Night Out turns the clock back to the 1940s and 50s to a time when neighbors knew neighbors, routinely looked out for one another and everyone knew the cop on the beat,” said Matt Peskin, NNO founder. “It’s a great way for residents and first responders to connect under positive circumstances.”

This year’s event will feature a familiar lineup of activities including meet-and-greets with first responders, children’s games, food and refreshments, safety demonstrations, and live entertainment. Local governments and community groups are expected to host block parties, festivals, cookouts, and parades in support of the initiative.

NATW has secured corporate partnerships with ADT, Starbucks, Nintendo, AT&T, the 7-Eleven Cares Foundation, Dollar Tree, Associa, L.E.A.D., and Nextbase to support the 2025 celebration.

“National Night Out reminds us that safer neighborhoods start with trust and connection,” said DeLu Jackson, Chief Marketing Officer of ADT. “ADT is proud to support this effort for a third year.”

Founded in the 1980s, National Night Out now engages millions of residents annually. The event is seen as a grassroots tool for strengthening public safety by promoting familiarity, communication, and accountability between citizens and local law enforcement.
