Manhunt Underway After West Philly Shooting Injures 5—Including Two Children

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying multiple individuals wanted in connection with a quintuple shooting that occurred in broad daylight in West Philadelphia, leaving four juveniles and one adult injured.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the shooting took place at approximately 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, near the intersection of 56th and Christian Streets in the city’s 18th Police District. The incident is under active investigation by the department’s Shooting Investigation Group.

Police say five people were struck by gunfire, including two young children. An 11-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia by police and are currently listed in stable condition. Two 16-year-old males also sustained gunshot wounds. One of them remains in critical condition after initially being transported to HUP Cedar and later transferred to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. The second teen is reported to be in stable condition at Penn Presbyterian.

A fifth victim, a 32-year-old male, suffered a graze wound to the hand and is also in stable condition.

At this time, no arrests have been made, and investigators have not yet identified a motive for the shooting. Surveillance video footage of the suspects has been released, and police are urging anyone who may recognize the individuals or have relevant information to come forward.
