WILMINGTON, DE — A routine traffic stop in Wilmington led to the arrest of a city man and the recovery of a loaded handgun, according to authorities.
On the night of July 24, at approximately 10:05 p.m., a Wilmington Police officer initiated a vehicle stop in the 900 block of A Street. The stop was conducted for equipment and registration violations.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers made contact with the driver, identified as 34-year-old Raheen Sills. During the encounter, police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun from the vehicle. Sills was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
He has been charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, in addition to receiving multiple traffic-related citations. Following his arrest, Sills was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $2,500 cash-only bail.
As with all criminal matters, it is important to note that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
