MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has introduced the LTO 150H, a new AEC-Q200 qualified addition to its LTO series of thick film power resistors. Designed for high-stress environments, the LTO 150H delivers superior pulse absorption of up to 75 J/0.1 s and offers power dissipation up to 150 W at a +45 °C case temperature.
Housed in a clip-mount TO-247 package for direct heatsink mounting, the LTO 150H boasts 30% higher energy absorption compared to its predecessors, ensuring enhanced protection against transient pulses. This design provides improved stability, reduces risks of failure, and increases overall system reliability. With a low thermal resistance of 0.87 °C/W, the device minimizes heat build-up, allowing systems to use fewer components, simplify layouts, and save on overall costs.
The resistor operates at high temperatures up to +175 °C and supports resistance values from 1 Ω to 2.2 kΩ with tolerances as tight as ±2%. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including HEV and EV batteries, industrial motor drives, energy monitoring, optical network equipment, and even weapons guidance systems. Its non-inductive design and optional bended terminations add further versatility.
