CLAY TWP, PA — Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department released a statement regarding a single-vehicle fire that occurred the night of April 11th in the 200 block of West Church Street in Clay Township.

At 10:10 PM, a 911 call was reported by the vehicle owner who stated he started the vehicle and immediately noticed a fire erupt in the engine compartment. He backed the vehicle away from his residence and likely saved it from further damage or loss.

The Durlach Mt. Airy Fire Company was on the scene and able to extinguish the fire; however, Fire Chief noted that due to the magnesium within the engine being ignited, it was difficult to stop. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department is reminding citizens to contact 911 if they witness any suspicious activity or are in need of immediate assistance.
