Sponsored Content Disclosure

An “advertorial” (also known as “sponsored content” or “paid article”) usually means an extended text advertisement that is submitted to MyChesCo by an outside company looking to gain visibility for a product or service by providing information our readers may benefit from (e.g., an article) rather than an ad/display unit.

Though we are pitched a lot of advertorials at MyChesCo, only a small percentage of them qualify for publication. Our general rule is that if it isn’t useful to the residents of Chester County or otherwise compelling, we won’t publish it.

Any content that we have had something of value given to us in exchange for publishing will be clearly marked, as will any sponsored content. You can read more about the FTC’s policies, requirements, and suggestions for published digital and social media here.
