The stage is set for baseball’s brightest stars. The full lineups for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game — slated for July 15 at Atlanta’s Truist Park — have been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, with the game airing live on FOX.
Fans will recall that, as always, the starting lineups for the MLB All-Star Game are determined by fan voting, while pitchers and reserve players are selected through a combination of player ballots and input from the Commissioner’s Office.
Unfortunately for Philadelphia fans, no Phillies were named to the National League’s starting lineup, which is as follows:
- Catcher: Will Smith, Dodgers
- First base: Freddie Freeman, Dodgers
- Second base: Ketel Marte, D-backs
- Shortstop: Francisco Lindor, Mets
- Third base: Manny Machado, Padres
- Outfield: Ronald Acuña Jr., Braves
- Outfield: Pete Crow-Armstrong, Cubs
- Outfield: Kyle Tucker, Cubs
- Designated hitter: Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers
However, two Phillies players are headed to Truist Park to compete in the Midsummer Classic — and deservedly so.
The Fightin’ Phils will be represented by ace Zack Wheeler and slugger Kyle Schwarber — both clear selections given the outstanding seasons each is compiling.
Wheeler is 9-3 with a 2.17 ERA (sixth in MLB), 148 strikeouts (third), and a 0.84 WHIP (fifth). Given that he’s a Georgia native, it would be a fitting tribute to have him start the game — a decision that ultimately rests with the National League manager.
Schwarber is batting .251 with 27 home runs (fifth in MLB), 63 RBIs (tenth), and a .924 OPS (ninth).
Both players are three-time All-Stars.
Schwarber told reporters on Sunday that he does not intend to participate in the Home Run Derby, which takes place Monday night (July 14th) ahead of Tuesday’s All-Star Game (July 15th).
