Early All-Star Voting Results Revealed: Where the Phillies Stand

Major League Baseball All-Star Game

Major League Baseball (MLB) unveiled the first wave of 2025 All-Star voting results on Monday night. This year’s Midsummer Classic is set for July 15 at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves—one of the Phillies’ fiercest division rivals. Philadelphia, however, won’t have to wait long for its turn on the national stage: Citizens Bank Park is slated to host the All-Star Game in 2026.

The voting process is currently in Phase 1, which runs through June 26 at noon ET. During this initial stage, fans can cast up to five ballots per day across MLB platforms. Once Phase 1 concludes, the top vote-getter in each league—American and National—will automatically earn a starting spot in the All-Star Game, allowing them to bypass the second round of voting entirely. As it stands, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge leads all players with 1,568,527 votes, followed closely by Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani, who has garnered 1,398,771 votes. If these trends hold, both Judge and Ohtani will secure automatic starting spots in their respective lineups.

According to MLB.com, if Judge maintains this trajectory, he could become the first player to repeat as the league’s top overall vote-getter since Alex Rodriguez—who accomplished the feat in 2007 and 2008, also as a Yankee.

Excluding the overall top vote-getters—who, as noted, will automatically earn starting spots in their league’s All-Star lineup—the top two players at each position (and the top six outfielders) at the conclusion of Phase 1 will advance to Phase 2 of voting. This second phase begins at 12:00 p.m. ET on June 30 and runs through 12:00 p.m. ET on July 2, providing fans with a brief three-day window to cast their final ballots.

During Phase 2, fans may vote only once per day on MLB platforms, and all vote totals reset at the start of this round—meaning Phase 1 results do not carry over. The player receiving the most votes at each position during Phase 2 will be named a starter for the 2025 All-Star Game. The full list of starters will be revealed on ESPN on Wednesday, July 2, at 7 p.m. ET.

It is worth noting that, according to league rules outlined on MLB.com, “If an outfielder is a league’s leading vote-getter, Phase 2 voting at the position will still take place to determine the remaining two starters among the next four outfield finalists.”

Shifting focus to the hometown Phillies: while none currently lead at their respective positions, several players have made the leaderboard and remain in the mix as Phase 1 voting continues.

At first base, Bryce Harper currently sits in fourth place with 276,647 votes. It’s worth noting that Harper was placed on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to June 6) due to inflammation in his right wrist, which may be impacting his standing.

At shortstop, Trea Turner has garnered 348,053 votes, placing him third at the position. New York Mets standout Francisco Lindor currently leads all National League shortstops with 1,019,273 votes.

Alec Bohm, who earned his first All-Star selection last season, ranks fifth among third basemen with 232,469 votes.

No Phillies currently rank among the top nine outfield vote-getters, but catcher J.T. Realmuto has received 249,476 votes—placing him fourth at his position. He trails Mets catcher Francisco Álvarez, who holds third place with 274,191 votes. A three-time All-Star, Realmuto previously earned selections in 2018, 2019, and 2021.

At designated hitter, Kyle Schwarber ranks fourth in the voting with 332,097 votes—despite having hit 22 home runs this season, the fourth-most in the league. He trails Ohtani, newly acquired San Francisco Giant Rafael Devers, and Seiya Suzuki of the Chicago Cubs.

For those wondering—and a detail I had to double-check myself—pitchers are not part of the fan voting process. Instead, selections for All-Star pitchers and reserve players are made through a combination of player ballots and input from the Commissioner’s Office.

There’s still plenty of time for Phillies fans to support their favorite players and help shape the All-Star rosters. With Phase 1 voting open through June 26, every ballot could make a difference in sending a few more Phillies to Truist Park this July.
