CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming pipe replacement and base repair operations on Route 162 (Embreeville Road) in Chester County, aimed at improving roadway safety and quality.
The work, scheduled from Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27, will require the closure of Route 162 between Route 82 (Doe Run Road) and Stargazers Road in Newlin and East Marlborough townships. Construction will take place daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
During the closure, motorists will follow a posted detour directing them to Stargazers Road, Strasburg Road, and Route 82 (Doe Run Road). Local access on Route 162 will be maintained.
Drivers traveling near the affected area should anticipate delays and allow for additional travel time. PennDOT has emphasized that all construction activities are weather dependent and subject to rescheduling if necessary.
Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution while driving in work zones to ensure safety for both crews and travelers.
