Westbound U.S. 30 Set for Overnight Delays as Repair Work Presses On

Lane closures

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Drivers using the westbound lanes of the U.S. 30 Coatesville Downingtown Bypass should prepare for overnight slowdowns this week as PennDOT continues base repair operations along a heavily traveled stretch of the highway.

The work is part of a $9.3 million improvement project spanning Coatesville and the townships of Caln, Sadsbury, Valley, and West Caln. Crews are working to extend pavement life and improve safety through milling, base repairs, new bituminous overlay, edge-line rumble strip reinstallation, and fresh pavement markings.

PennDOT said a lane closure will be in place on Wednesday, December 10, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, affecting westbound traffic between Route 340 (Bondsville Road) and Airport Road.

Motorists should expect delays and are urged to allow extra travel time during the overnight restriction. All work is weather dependent.

The project is being completed by Heidelberg Materials Northeast, LLC, and is funded entirely with state dollars.
