EASTTOWN TWP, PA — PECO will close a section of Newtown Road for nearly three weeks beginning Monday, December 1, as crews carry out utility construction in Chester County, PennDOT announced.
From Monday, December 1, through Friday, December 19, Newtown Road will be closed on weekdays between Sugartown Road and Waterloo Road from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During the closure, traffic will be detoured via Sugartown Road, Route 252 (Darby Paoli Road), St. David’s Road, and Newtown Street Road.
Local access will remain available, but PennDOT is urging motorists to allow extra time when traveling through the area, warning that backups and delays are likely. All work is weather dependent.
The project is part of PECO’s ongoing effort to upgrade utility infrastructure across the region.
