Traffic Shift Begins for Route 29 Sinkhole Repair Project

Road work - traffic alert

EAST WHITELAND TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Stage 3 construction will begin Saturday, October 18, on Route 29 (Morehall Road) in East Whiteland Township as part of a $22.5 million long-term remediation project addressing recurring sinkhole issues.

From October 18 through June 1, 2026, southbound Route 29 traffic will shift onto one of the newly rebuilt northbound lanes between the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange and Great Valley Parkway. Both directions will share a single lane until southbound reconstruction is completed.
