Traffic Alert! Lane Closures on Key Philly Roads Next Week – Plan Ahead!

Traffic Restrictions

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans to resume resurfacing work on Richmond Street and Broad Street (Route 611) next week, with lane closures expected to impact traffic in these areas.

From Monday, May 19, through Wednesday, May 21, lane closures will be in place on Richmond Street between Wheatsheaf Lane and Bridge Street from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM each night.

Similarly, work will affect Broad Street (Route 611) between Allegheny Avenue and Hunting Park Avenue from Tuesday, May 20, through Thursday, May 22. Lane closures on Broad Street are scheduled to occur during two periods each day, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

PennDOT advises motorists to plan for delays and allocate extra travel time while navigating these areas. “Backups and delays will occur,” stated the agency, emphasizing that all work is weather dependent.

Drivers are encouraged to remain alert and exercise caution near construction zones to ensure the safety of all road users.
