EAST COVENTRY TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a full closure of eastbound Route 724 (Schuylkill Road) in East Coventry Township beginning Monday, August 11, as the township undertakes road construction and paving efforts.
The closure, which is scheduled to remain in place around the clock through Monday, August 18, will affect the section of Route 724 between the U.S. 422 Interchange and Sanatoga Road. Passenger vehicles will be detoured via Old Schuylkill Road and Route 724, while large trucks will follow a longer detour using U.S. 422, Route 100 (Pottstown Pike), Route 23 (Ridge Road), and Route 724.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. PennDOT advises motorists to plan for additional travel time and anticipate potential traffic delays. All construction activities are weather dependent.
