CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Motorists across Chester County should prepare for intermittent lane closures and slow-moving traffic next week as PennDOT crews repair potholes along several major state highways.

PennDOT maintenance crews will conduct pothole repairs on multiple highways throughout Chester County next week, including sections of U.S. 1 in Lower Oxford and Upper Oxford townships and U.S. 30 along the Coatesville–Downingtown Bypass through Valley, West Brandywine, Caln, East Caln, and Sadsbury townships.
Additional work will occur along U.S. 30 Business (Lincoln Highway) in East Caln and West Whiteland townships, U.S. 202 through West Goshen, East Goshen, and Tredyffrin townships, and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in East Goshen and West Goshen townships.
Crews will also repair pavement along Route 23 (Ridge Road) in East Vincent Township, Route 113 (Kimberton Road) in Phoenixville Borough and Schuylkill Township, and Route 472 (Lancaster Pike) in Lower Oxford Township.
Drivers traveling through these areas should expect short-term lane closures and potential slowdowns while crews patch deteriorated pavement. Motorists are urged to plan extra travel time and remain alert while passing through active work zones.
PennDOT District 6 said it has already responded to more than 2,900 pothole reports since January 1 and has used more than 740 tons of asphalt to repair roadways across the five-county Philadelphia region.
