CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced pipe replacement and roadway base repair operations scheduled on various state highways in Chester County over the coming weeks.

Beginning Monday, June 30, through Wednesday, July 2, Route 162 (Embreeville Road) will be closed between Route 82 (Doe Run Road) and Stargazers Road in Newlin and East Marlborough Townships from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily for base repair. Traffic will be detoured via Stargazers Road, Strasburg Road, and Route 82.

Additionally, Scroggy Road in Lower Oxford Township will be closed for pipe replacement from Wednesday, July 2, through Tuesday, July 8, on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Motorists will be redirected to Street Road, Union School Road, and Jackson School Road during the closure.

Local access will be maintained in both work zones. PennDOT advises motorists to anticipate traffic delays and to allocate additional travel time when driving near these areas. The project schedule is subject to weather conditions.
