KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has detailed a series of upcoming road closures for critical pipe replacement and base repair work on state highways throughout Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. These efforts form part of a broader initiative to repair and resurface over 200 miles of highway across the Philadelphia region.
In Chester County, Brandywine Creek Road in Newlin Township will close between Green Valley Road and Powell Road on Thursday, July 10, and Friday, July 11, from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM for base repairs. Drivers will be detoured via Route 162 (Embreeville Road), Route 82 (Doe Run Road), and Green Valley Road.
In Delaware County, Sweetwater Road in Thornbury Township will undergo a full closure between Creek Road and Sweetbriar Lane from Monday, July 14, through Sunday, July 20, operating around the clock for pipe replacement. Additional daytime closures are scheduled from Monday, July 21, to Friday, July 25, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the same detour routes in place.
Montgomery County will see weekday closures on Stump Hall Road between Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) and Route 73 (Skippack Pike) in Skippack and Worcester townships starting Monday, July 7, through Friday, July 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for pipe replacement. Concurrently, Game Farm Road will close weekdays from Wednesday, July 9, through Thursday, July 31, between Neiffer Road and Route 29 (Main Street) in Schwenksville Borough, Limerick, and Lower Frederick townships for base repair. Detours will guide traffic along Neiffer Road, Route 73 (Big Road and Gravel Pike), and Route 29.
Local access will be maintained in all areas. Motorists are advised to allow additional time when traveling near these work zones, as significant delays and backups are expected. All work is weather dependent.
