CALN TWP, PA — A key neighborhood roadway in Chester County will shut down for nearly two months as Pennsylvania American Water begins a utility improvement project that will redirect local traffic and test commuter patience this spring.

Pennsylvania American Water announced it will perform construction on Olive Street in Caln Township under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit, triggering weekday closures beginning Monday, March 2, and continuing through Thursday, April 30.

During that period, Olive Street will be closed between Caln Road and 13th Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The extended daytime closure is expected to disrupt routine travel for residents and nearby motorists navigating the corridor.

Drivers will be detoured via Caln Road, West Chester Road, and 13th Avenue. While local access to homes and businesses will be maintained, officials caution that backups and delays may occur as traffic shifts onto surrounding roadways.

All scheduled construction activities are weather dependent and may be adjusted as conditions require.

With the closure spanning the bulk of March and April, motorists are urged to plan ahead and anticipate changing traffic patterns throughout the area.
