Drivers should plan extra time, expect delays, and consider alternate routes when traveling through the corridor, especially during midday hours.

The $10.4 million project will widen a 1.3-mile section of U.S. 1, adding a third travel lane in key segments and reconfiguring shoulders and turn lanes to improve traffic flow. Additional work includes milling and paving, sidewalk construction near Longwood Village, signal upgrades at five intersections, new dynamic message signs, and changes to turning movements at Orchard Avenue.
