WEST GOSHEN TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that major milling and paving work will begin next week on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) as part of a comprehensive project aimed at improving travel efficiency and safety through the busy corridor shared with East Gay Street and Route 3 (Market Street) in West Goshen Township, Chester County.
The construction schedule starts Sunday, July 13, with work running from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning. From Monday, July 14, through Friday, July 18, lane closures with flagging will continue in both directions between Paoli Pike and Strasburg Road during daytime hours from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and overnight from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
Drivers are urged to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time in the area, as significant delays and backups are expected during active work hours. PennDOT emphasized that all activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled if necessary.
Highway Materials, Inc., based in Flourtown, Pennsylvania, is managing the construction under a contract fully funded by federal resources. The project is part of ongoing efforts to modernize local roadways and improve overall safety for motorists and pedestrians alike.
