Motorists should expect backups and plan extra travel time while moving through the work zone. PennDOT advises drivers to slow down and remain alert for changing traffic patterns.

The work is part of a $9.3 million project designed to improve travel and safety along the western section of the Coatesville–Downingtown Bypass. Construction activities include milling existing pavement, performing base repairs, installing a new asphalt overlay, reinstalling edge-line rumble strips, and refreshing pavement markings.

The project affects portions of the corridor through Coatesville as well as Caln, Sadsbury, Valley, and West Caln townships.

PennDOT noted that all scheduled work is weather dependent, meaning timelines could shift if conditions change.

The contractor on the project is Allan Myers, Inc., of Worcester, Pennsylvania, and the work is funded entirely with state dollars.

Drivers traveling through the area during the work hours are encouraged to seek alternate routes when possible and allow extra time for their commute.
