WEST GOSHEN TWP, PA — Milling and paving work on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) will commence next week as part of an infrastructure improvement project aimed at enhancing travel conditions and safety along the Route 3/East Gay Street/Route 3 (Market Street) corridor in Chester County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced.
From Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27, lane closures with flagging will affect both directions of Route 3 between Paoli Pike and Strasburg Road. Work will take place during daytime hours from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and overnight from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning.
Motorists traveling through the work zone should anticipate backups and delays and are advised to allocate additional travel time. PennDOT emphasized that all scheduled work remains contingent on favorable weather conditions.
Highway Materials, Inc., based in Flourtown, Pennsylvania, is the general contractor for the project, which is financed entirely with federal funds. Through this initiative, PennDOT aims to improve roadway safety and ensure a smoother driving experience for residents and commuters.
