CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Drivers on the U.S. 30 (Exton Bypass) should expect delays next week as PennDOT conducts paving tied to an ongoing sinkhole remediation project in West Whiteland and East Caln townships.
At a Glance:
- Roads Affected: U.S. 30 (Exton Bypass)
- Dates: Monday, March 30, through Wednesday, April 1
- Times: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Reason: Paving and sinkhole remediation
PennDOT said lane closures will be in place in both directions between Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) and Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) during daytime hours. Traffic will be reduced, and drivers should expect slow-moving conditions through the work zone.
No detour is planned, but motorists should anticipate backups and intermittent congestion, especially during midday travel. Plan extra time or seek alternate local routes to avoid delays.
The work is part of a $6.8 million effort to permanently stabilize areas prone to sinkholes. Crews are using a specialized grouting process that fills underground voids beneath the roadway to prevent future collapses.
Additional improvements include pavement reconstruction and drainage upgrades along the corridor.
Drivers are urged to remain alert, follow posted signs, and reduce speeds through the construction area.
