CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a series of milling and paving operations set to take place on several state highways in Chester County, resulting in temporary road closures and detours.

Work will begin on Monday, May 19, and continue through Thursday, May 22. Each road will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the scheduled dates, allowing crews to complete necessary repairs and improvements.

On May 19 and May 20, Modena Road will be closed between Overhill Road and Union Street in Modena and South Coatesville boroughs. During this time, traffic will be redirected to Union Street/Goosetown Road, Woodward Road, and Overhill Road.

Additionally, on May 21 and May 22, Strasburg Road will be closed between Route 82 (Doe Run Road) and Buck Run Road in East Fallowfield Township. Drivers will be directed to use Route 82 (Doe Run Road) and Buck Run Road as alternate routes.

Motorists should plan for extra travel time and possible delays while navigating near the work zones. PennDOT has stated that all scheduled work is subject to weather conditions, which may influence the timeline.
