Big Utility Upgrade Coming: What PECO’s Route 29 Construction Means for Chester County Drivers

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — PECO Energy announced it will begin utility construction on Route 29 (State Road) in Charlestown and Schuylkill townships starting Friday, July 18, as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements in the region.

The project will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through Friday, July 25. During this period, Route 29 (State Road) will be closed and detoured between Pothouse Road and Charlestown Road. Drivers will be directed to use Pothouse Road and White Horse Road to navigate around the construction zone.

Local access will be maintained up to the work area, but motorists should anticipate delays and plan for additional travel time. All work is weather dependent and subject to change if conditions require.
