KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The Veterans Commission at Washington Memorial Chapel has announced that it will host a special service and luncheon to honor National Vietnam War Veterans Day on Saturday, April 11 (observed nationally March 29) at 11 AM at the Washington Memorial Chapel (2000 Valley Forge Park Rd, King of Prussia, PA).
Held in recognition of the 1973 withdrawal of the last U.S. combat troops from Vietnam, the event will pay tribute to the nearly three million Americans who served during the Vietnam War, honoring their courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy.
The program will feature a keynote address by Colonel Sherwood “Woody” D. Goldberg, U.S. Army (Ret.), a highly decorated Vietnam War veteran who served two tours with the 1st Infantry Division (“The Big Red One”). A Philadelphia resident, Goldberg went on to serve as a senior advisor in U.S. national security and diplomatic affairs following his military career.
The commemorative service will include prayers, scripture readings, and hymns dedicated to Vietnam veterans and their families.
A community luncheon will immediately follow in Patriots Hall, hosted by Father Tommy and featuring his popular “Revolutionary BBQ.” Admission to the service is free. Guests wishing to attend the luncheon are encouraged to RSVP in advance at https://evite.me/vecW2kSCf9.
Washington Memorial Chapel is located at 2000 Valley Forge Park Road, King of Prussia, PA.
